KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15. - Government Housing Scheme will be introduced first by Cagamas to help young people earning less than RM3, 000 a month to own a home.
Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the scheme, buyers will get 100 percent loan without having to produce 10 percent of such advances before this convention.
"The government acknowledges the difficulties faced by young people, particularly the new work with an income of less than RM3, 000 a month to own a home because it's not easy for them bertatih.
"The scheme will offer the first house on the government guarantees payment of 10 per cent of house price below RM220, 000," he said when tabling the 2011 Budget in Parliament today.
At the same time, the Prime Minister said, the first home buyers will also be given exemption of stamp duty by 50 per cent on the instrument of transfer for houses costing not more than RM350, 000.
In addition he said, the government also proposes stamp duty exemption of 50 percent also be given on how the loan agreement to finance the first home.
In the meantime, he is also Finance Minister, told, to help poor people with low income, the government has allocated a total of RM568 million to build 87.300 units.
According to the Prime Minister, of the total 79.000 houses built under the Public Housing Program, 8,000 units under the Rent Assistance Project and the 300 units under the Urban Housing Assistance Project.
Meanwhile, to help the estate workers to own homes, Najib said the government would provide Low Cost Housing Scheme with an allocation of RM50 million to run the National Savings Bank (BSN).
"This scheme is open to permanent estate workers (citizens) to get a home loan to a maximum of RM60, 000 low cost houses at a maximum rate of four percent.
"The loans were extended to 40 years to reach its funding until the second generation," he said.
